At the end of March I was traveling for a few days to my old hometown - Cologne. It was almost midsummer weather. Perfect conditions for my favorite topic in street photography: light and shadow. I started at Friesenplatz around 11 a.m. and made my way to the main train station. From there I went through the old town to the Heumarkt and paid another visit to the huge underground station. I've been there a few times to take photos, but I've never been completely satisfied. This time I found new compositions and I'm really happy with some of the pictures. From the Heumarkt I then walked over Aachener Straße to Rudolfplatz, from where I made my way back to the car. I was on the road for about five to six hours. Here you can see a selection of the pictures that were taken that day.
During the walk I shot a new video for YouTube, where I'll take you on my photo walk. You can see the video here or at the end of this blog post.
Two days later I was on the streets of Cologne again, but this time with a specific topic and in relation to a specific route in Cologne. More on that soon.
