The Budapest metro was a real highlight for me on my 12-day street photography trip in August 2021. Nowhere else have I seen such a strong contrast of subway stations with modern architecture and historical stations. Of course, my goal was to capture both in the best possible way. For this reason I chose three underground stations on the M3 line and one station on the historic M1 line. The historic subway stations of the M1 line almost all look identical, so that it would not have been worth taking photos of several stations here. The result of my series "4 pictures from 4 stations" looks like this:
Station 1: Bikás Park
Station 2: Szent Gellért Tér
Station 3: Fovám
Station 4: Opera
I can only recommend everyone to visit the metro in Budapest for photos when you are in this enchanting city. The metro certainly has a lot more interesting spots to offer. I could have lost myself driving the subway stations for days. Unfortunately, as always, there was not enough time.
